How do I waterproof this beer pong table?
John asked:
I’m making a Beerpong table that will cover my pool table. I plan to use plywood and put some paintings on the wood, then stain what I haven’t painted. I want to protect it though as I know beer will get spilt on it and I don’t want to replace it every week. Can I just use a few coats of polyurethane? Need some help here…

Buy a poncho in size like XXXXXXXXXXL ha ha jk. You can probably go to some store and find a slip cover see-through thing.

Yep, put about 5 or 6 coats up there and you’ll never have to do it again.

You are correct. Few coats of polyurethane should do the trick.

i used weather treatment stuff from home depot for my table. then again mine is fully customized with slots for the beer cups and a budweiser symbol in the middle. it’s worth the extra cash and hours of hard work.

Line the table with either garbage bags or some kind of plastic wrap. If you stretch it out enough and tape it down good it should be very effective.TRUST!

Polyurethane will do the trick. The more coats you put on the better it will look. Go with the more expensive polyurethane so that it will not turn yellow after many years of use. Have fun.

yeah, polyurethane or shellac. I would use poly too, and just put 3 or so coats on – nice.
