How do you put holes in a beer pong table for cups?

I am interested in building a beer pong table. Being picky about how people rack cups, I want to put holes in the table so that the cups don’t move.
1) Whats the best way to make the holes in the table? (I’ll probably be using cheaper wood from Home Depot/Lowe’s)
2) I want the cups stick up about halfway from the table. Whats the best way to align the holes so that the cups make a good rack?

  1. use either a forstner bit or a hole saw either will chuck up into an electric drillhloe saw in less money and will do an o.k. job
