How to make a folding beer pong table?

Beer Pong asked:

I want to make a beer pong table either 3 or 4 ft by 8 ft that has hinges in the middle and folds in half. I also want to attach folding legs to the bottom so it can stand on it’s own. I was wondering what I could do for added support in the middle since I don’t think the hinge will hold the table by itself. I was also wondering which type of hinge to use and what type of framing to do on the bottom for support. Any design ideas would be appreciated as well.

  1. if you set up the hinge right the weight of the table should support itself in the middle, otherwise you can have a peice of wood that slides out once the table is set up to add support, and slides back out of the way so the table can fold. I would use t-strap hinges since they are big and can hold a lot of weight.
